POV Production provided various video production and photography services for the event organizer, GL events, a company base head quarters in France. The event took over 4 months in 2 cities, in Jakarta and Palembang. We provided video and photo documentary, also drone shots of GL events team involvement in preparing the venues and managing this international event.

The production took over 4 months to shoot and the shot that took the most time to do during the production is the time lapse shot. The challenges to shoot a documentary program is to be mobile and move fast while trying to get as many shots of video and photo as possible, and operating in a small production team and bringing essential equipment only, especially that does not weight too much and using battery powered equipment. Also since this is an international government event, the security was very tight and some access are limited especially during the D day of the sports event.

The small production team includes an executive producer/ photographer/ 2nd videographer/ editor, 1st videographer, 2x time-lapse photo team, 2nd video editor, a scriptwriter, production assistant and 2x talents.

For the gear we used Sony A7S II for the videography and Sony A7 III for the photography and second video camera. 2 sets of Sony 3x trifecta f/2.8 lenses including 16-35mm, 24-70mm and 70-200mm, a gimbal, 1x LED 7 inch light panel, 1x wireless lav mics, and a drone for getting established shots. 

We hope that by reading this article, our clients can have better insights on how a video program production and photography is produced, especially from the client side. In this case the planning for the location access and interviewee really made the shoot run smoothly without too much downtime so we were able to get more shots.
